Autism Friendly Community (AFC) is Autism McLean’s community outreach initiative.

AFC partners with local organizations to develop community awareness and full integration of people with autism into the community. AFC targets six key dimensions of life that form the basis of an autism friendly community — welcome, work, home/neighborhood, education, recreation, and wellness — represented by the six puzzle pieces of our logo.

AFC partnerships help cultivate autism strategic planning, policy development and awareness in local government, organizations and businesses. Our outreach efforts recognize local autism champions and practices that help our local community become more and more autism friendly.
